Winter Parades and Festivals
It's always a treat to join in the fun and attend a holiday festival or parade. Delaware’s events bring locals and tourists together to celebrate the beauty of the holidays. Between bustling parades, traditional celebrations and visits from Santa Claus, there is so much to enjoy this holiday season.
HOLIDAY PARADES
60th Annual Wilmington Jaycees Christmas Parade (November 30: Wilmington)
This annual parade will feature local celebrities, marching bands, community organizations, floats and a visit from Santa Claus! Even elves will be accepting Christmas wish lists and letters from children for Santa to reply to.
Camden-Wyoming's 4th Annual Christmas Parade (December 7: Camden-Wyoming)
In central Delaware, this annual parade in central Delaware will feature holiday lights, festival decorations and cheerful floats.
92nd Annual Lewes Christmas Parade (December 7: Lewes)
The Lewes Christmas Parade is a yearly tradition that does not disappoint. Between decorative floats and lights, the community of Lewes comes together to create fun for all. Afterwards, attend the candlelight caroling in the park or visit one of downtown’s restaurants for a nice dinner.
Hometown Christmas Parade (December 4: Rehoboth Beach)
Visit Rehoboth Beach for the annual Hometown Christmas parade that will march, roll and stroll for a night of holiday cheer and a visit from Santa Claus. Be sure to explore all of Rehoboth Ave.’s many businesses for holiday shopping and dine at the many award-winning restaurants in the area.
WINTER FESTIVALS AND EVENTS
Christmas in Odessa (December 7: Wilmington and Brandywine Valley)
Take a self-guided tour of Historic Odessa during the holiday season. Explore festively decorated homes from the 18th and 19th centuries. You can also enjoy a wreath sale, tea and cookies, a tree lighting ceremony and more.
Schellville Winter Celebration (November - December: Rehoboth)
With festive lights, local vendors and endless activities, Schellville provides a free and fun winter experience. This family-friendly event gives locals and travelers the chance to listen to live music, sip on a warm beverage, take a train ride, shop for Christmas gifts, go roller skating and even meet Mr. and Mrs. Claus! Whether young or young at heart, there is plenty of enchantment to be found in Schellville.
Tree Lighting and Holiday Sing-Along (November 29: Rehoboth)
Visit Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk’s bandstand for a night of carols as the community holiday tree is lit. The towering tree will glisten for all to see as people come together to listen to carols and enjoy the feeling of the holidays drawing near.
Fire and Ice Festival (January 31- February 2: Bethany - Fenwick Area)
A weekend of ice skating, bonfires, ice sculpture tours, tastings and music awaits at the Fire and Ice Festival. This year’s theme, A Weekend for the Books, will also include a chili cookoff and drink competition.
